Canadian videographer Jan Vozenilek was a member of  Midway Journey, an expedition to Midway Atoll in September 2009 to document the effects of plastic pollution on baby albatrosses.   Midway Journey was led by photographer Chris Jordan and supported by the Plastic Pollution Coalition.
Earlier this week, Jan Vozenilek visited an elementary school in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, where he lives, to teach children about plastic pollution. Jan brought with him some plastic objects recovered from the stomach of baby albatrosses, which made a strong impression on the children.
After learning about the effects of plastic pollution, the children had a clear idea of what needs to be done: “we should buy less plastic in the first place”.

This footage was broadcast by the CHBC News channel for the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, Canada, and posted on the internet on November 2nd, 2009. Link to original news post and footage here.
