Lisa Kaas Boyle (Co-founders; Staff). Lisa Kaas Boyle is the Director Policy for Plastic Pollution Coalition. She is an environmental attorney. She is a former Deputy District Attorney for the County of Los Angeles where she served in the Environmental Crimes Division, Consumer Protection Division, and Central Trials Division. In addition, Lisa served as Director of Law and Policy for Santa Monica- based nonprofit Heal the Bay, where she remains on the Board of Directors. Lisa writes on environmental issues for The Huffington Post. -
Dianna Cohen (Staff; Co-founders; Artist). Creative Director Dianna Cohen is a Los Angeles-based multimedia visual artist, painter and curator. She is best known for her works using recycled plastic bags ranging from small hanging pieces to room-sized installations. In 2007, Cohen expanded into making wearable art pieces using recycled materials. Solo shows include Post, Art Affairs gallery in Amsterdam, the Sutton Gallery in Melbourne, and Frank Pictures in Santa Monica, CA. She has shown in group exhibitions at Affirmation Arts in NYC, the Riverside Art Museum in Riverside, the Bronx Museum in NYC and the Tampa Museum of Art in Florida. In 2008 she had work in the exhibition Just How does A Patriot Act at The OCCCA in Orange County and at SPARC in Venice, CA and in the exhibition Recreate in Santa Monica. In 2009, Cohen had solo exhibitions at Elizabeth Budia Gallery, Barcelona, and Art From Scrap in Santa Barbara. In 2010, her work was exhibited in BCN: Nights Gallery in Barcelona, Spain. -
Manuel Maqueda (Co-founders). Manuel Maqueda is an environmental strategist fascinated with future and emerging environmental issues. Manuel worked in Europe for energy companies as a designer of policies and a risk manager before switching his focus to environmental and media strategy.
Manuel is the Vice President of Community and Strategy of BlooSee.com, a social atlas of the oceans that combines functionalities of Wikipedia, Facebook, GPS and using a Google Earth/Oceans interface. Manuel is an advisor to Spot.US, an open source project to pioneer community funded reporting. Manuel is an advisor for the Channer, the first Social TV Tuner for mobile phones, where the audience can comment in real time; and an advisor to Circulate, a smart browser plug-in that delivers a contextual blend of new and traditional media. -
Daniella Dimitrova Russo (Staff, Co-founders). Daniella Dimitrova Russo is the co-founder and Executive Director of Plastic Pollution Coalition. Daniella is a social entrepreneur who believes that progressive societies are fueled by the power of informed and engaged people. Daniella has spent many years in the high-tech industry as a founder and executive of a range companies – from Internet startups to Fortune 500. She had held executive positions at Frame Technology, Xerox PARC, Infoseek, Sun Microsystems, and PlanetStop. She is the founder and CEO of Mindzone, and Daniella & Associates. In 2006 she developed and launched the award-winning "Think Beyond Plastics" 360 campaign. Since then she has worked on elevating the issue of plastic pollution to the forefront of social, political and environmental discourse, and towards a world free of plastic pollution and its toxic impacts on people, animals and the environment.
