Plastic Pollution Coalition and Green Business BASE CAMP are partnering to launch Think Beyond Plastic, a contest for entrepreneurs working on solutions to the plastic pollution crisis.

Of special interest are disruptive technologies and solutions for supply chain and infrastructure, source materials and packaging, or other products, services or business model innovations that can lead to solutions at scale.

Qualified participants must have a well-articulated idea or operating business that is seed or early-stage. Businesses must have a viable business proposition, as well as sustainable business practices. The most promising applicants are eligible for a scholarship (valued at $4,000) to Green Business BASE CAMP’s inaugural workshop in Los Angeles, CA in the summer of 2012.

Eligible contestants will compete for a first prize of $50,000, and will compete following the final day of the workshop.
